12th Northolt Group 50th Birthday Party & Fireworks Night
The Group celebrated its 50th Birthday this month and we celebrated in style with a fireworks display and bonfire night.
We were lucky enough to have our District Commissioner and the Mayor of Ealing come to visit. The Mayor even awarded some Cubs their Chief Scout Silver award, and we gave some presents to our Secretary, Monica, who has been with us the whole 50 years!
A brilliant night was had by all.
13/05/17 - Group AGM & BBQ
This year's AGM and BBQ was a great success, with three of our leaders from the Cub section getting the County wide award for running a quality balanced programme for the Cubs.
One of our leaders also was presented her 5 years long service award, and we had lots of interest in joining our exec team. So a very positive day!
On top of all that, the Scouts cooked a lovely BBQ for us and the group enjoyed the sunshine.
23/04/17 - St. George's Day Parade
The group once again attended the celebration of the patron saint of Scouting. This year we were asked to bring along a shield in true knight style. We created our shield by getting the Young People to write their own 'Code of Conduct' and we wrote their ideas onto the shield
16/12/16 - 100 Years of Cubs Promise Party (Cub Fest)
Our Cubs took party in the wildest birthday party ever - the 100th birthday of Cub Scouts. At Paccar campsite there were lots of activities, all the Cubs (and leaders) renewed their promise, and even Scouting For Girls turned up to play their songs as well as some campfire ones!
07/12/16 - Mind Charity Cubs Visit
A representative from Mind in Harrow came to visit the cubs to say a big thank you for all the money they have raised for them over the past year.
The total raised was £443.96 - Well done to all involved.
UPDATE: We also made it into the Harrow Times!!
17/09/2016 - Volunteering at Hanwell Bunny Park
The Group and their families helped clear a new enclosure of weeds at Brent Lodge Park Animal Centre today.
This is a massive help to the team their as they only have 4 full time keepers and could focus their time on looking after poorly animals.
Well done all!
03/09/2016 - Sponsored Memory Walk for Alzheimer's Society
The Cubs and their families took part in the Alzheimer's Society Memory Walk in London today. Well done to everyone who took part, 7km walked and very proud of all of you. The numbers are still coming in, but I think in total as a group we have raised over £800! Great work, and all goes towards badges.
